The first time I visited Kambiri Beach Lodge was in 2014, I was 19 and I had just moved to Sengabay for my first job. I was impressed by the sheer size of the property but simultaneously saddened by it’s state of disrepair.
The hotel has undergone massive renovations and expansion since it came under the management of Serendib Group of hotels, so when I was invited for a tour I was absolutely eager to see how they had managed to revamp the enormous structure.
On arrival we met Don – the General Manager of Kambiri and Blue waters – whose vision and passion is infectious and can be seen quiet obviously in the transformation of the hotel. The staff was just as friendly and welcoming as they give us a thorough tour of the expansive property, relaying all the impressive history and culture of the hotel and surrounds.

What I loved the most

I will admit, the pool is a sight to behold but the pond absolutely took my breath away, no you seriously have to see it for yourself. It took me to another place and time and I have never seen anything like it throughout my travels in Malawi.
A video of my entire stay at Kambiri beach can be found on my Youtube channel the link at the link above, thank you for reading.
I remain,
